Stefan Hoschkara

Independent developer of Underfiction
Zürich, Switzerland

Stefan Hoschkara designs and builds Underfiction independently. It is an interactive fiction platform where the reader directs a scene and a frontier language model continues it in prose.

He has spent more than twelve years building iOS and macOS software with Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI, and ships independent products including Lacuna, Turnbase, Gazette, and Momus. His background in philosophy and political science informs a particular interest in precise language, narrative choices, and how models interpret human direction.

Underfiction grew out of a practical gap: existing fiction tools offered either strong models, creative freedom, usable prose, or private storage, but not all four in one product. Stefan evaluates model and prompt changes with repeatable story scenes, automated regression checks, and close reading of the resulting prose.
